Anti Ragging Cell

Aims and Objectives

Anti Ragging cell will be the supervisory and advisory committee on the matter of action for building and preserving the culture of ragging free environment on the campus. The anti-ragging squad will work under the supervision of the anti-ragging committee and monitors places like hostels, canteens, classrooms, and other areas of the student congregation and educates the students on the campus about the menace of ragging and related punishment provisions anti-ragging cell will be involved in designing strategies and action plan for curbing the menace of ragging in the campus by adopting an array of activities.

Policies and Regulations

As per the order of the Supreme Court of India and subsequent notification from UGC, ragging constitutes one or more of any intention by any student or group of students.

  • Any act of indiscipline, teasing or handling with rudeness.
  • Any act that prevents disrupts the regular academic activity.
  • Any activity which is likely to cause annoyance, hardship, physiological harm or creates fear or apprehension.
  • Any act of financial extortion or forceful expenditure.
  • Any act of physical abuse causing assault, harm or danger to health.
  • Any act of abuse by spoken words, emails, SMS or public insult etc.
  • Any act of injury or infringement of the fundamental right to human dignity.
  • Any act of injury or infringement of the fundamental right to human dignity.
  • Any unlawful assembly or conspiracy to ragging

Punishment to those found guilty

Any student or group of students found guilty of ragging on the campus or even outside the campus shall be liable to the following punishments.

  • Debarring from attending classes and academic privileges.
  • Suspension from attending classes and educational rights.
  • Withdrawing scholarships and other benefits.
  • Suspension from college for one month.

Responsibilities of the anti-ragging squad

The anti-ragging squad will be working under the monitoring of the anti-ragging cell and will seek advice from the anti-ragging cell. The functions of the anti-ragging squad are to keep a vigil and stop the incidences of ragging in the places of student aggregation, including classrooms, canteens, grounds, hostels etc. The squad will also educate the students by adopting various means about the menace of ragging related punishments. The anti-ragging unit embraces positive reinforcement activities for orienting students and moulding their personalities for a better cause. They shall work by guidance of the anti-ragging committee.
