Historical Study of Kalyani Chalukyan Monuments

The Department of History at B.L.D.E.A’s S.B. Arts and K.C.P. Science College, Vijayapura, organized a one-day field visit for students on April 27, 2026, with the approval of Principal Dr. Anil B. Naik. Under the guidance of Head of Department Prof. I.S. Hoogar and Assistant Professor Dr. Girish Hanamaraddi, students visited historical monuments from the Kalyani Chalukyan period in Chattarki village, Sindgi Taluk, Vijayapura district. Additionally, the group studied the Mallikarjuna Temple in Devarahippargi, another significant Kalyani Chalukyan site, gaining in-depth knowledge of the period’s distinct art and architectural style. The department expressed its gratitude to the college management and the Principal for facilitating the transportation and educational support for this successful field study.
