The Department of Statistics, BLDEA's S.B. Arts and K.C.P. Science College, Vijayapura, celebrated National Statistics Day to commemorate the birth anniversary of the legendary statistician Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis. On this occasion, Dr. Huchesh Budihal, Head, Department of Statistics, paid floral tribute to Prof. P.C. Mahalanobis by offering a garland to his portrait. He addressed the gathering and highlighted the remarkable contributions of Prof. Mahalanobis to the field of statistics and national planning, emphasizing the importance of statistics in research and decision-making. The B.Sc. Final Year students actively participated in the celebration and witnessed the programme with great enthusiasm. The event served as a meaningful tribute to the Father of Modern Indian Statistics and inspired students to appreciate the significance of statistics in everyday life and national development.
